Goldcar Italy - Admin charges 6 months after hire!

Hi there, has anyone been chased for admin charges from a car hire company used whilst on holiday please ? Had an email this morning from a 4 day hire in July this year, they say we haven't paid a toll fee whilst travelling in Italy. This car hire firm was a nightmare from day one, they now say they are taking €35 from my credit card and sending my home details to the toll company. We remember paying all the tolls necessary on our trip. Goldcar have not provided any details of dates, timesor anything further. They also gave a different car after a mix up with a car being blocked in when we arrived, I guess the toll fee is probably for the driver of this car, is there anything I should do? I am so angry at these people, we were forced to pay full insurance in order to take the car too.. I had also purchased excess insurance after MSE had recommended it. You try to do everything right but some car hire firms are just outrageous !:(

Goldcar are notorious for adding on extra charges they can't justify.
If you can't get the details from them about when the charge was incurred, dispute the payment with your credit card company. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I should complain (in writing) to your local Trading Standards Department. ISTR a similar occurrence with this company in Spain many years ago, I involved TS and the company conceded. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

I'm surprised anyone hires a vehicle without first checking out previous customer (victim) reviews. Feast your eyes - albeit in hindsight:

... good feedback and I will contact the credit card company and trading standards definitely, and I did check the feedback for Goldcar before booking, it wasn't the best but bertainly wasn't the worst at the beginning of the year when I booked it. But will certainly advise all the blogs from now on to stay clear. They havent provided any license details so I can't see that this charge is anything to do with me.. I had also kept my toll ticket as a bookmark for months and only just thrown it away when I finished the book, so darn annoying !!0
