Renovation in Singapore

Options
I know this is a bit off topic but I would appreciate your opinion. I have inherited an old flat in Singapore and I have got builders renovating it. I would like to know if the costs I was quoted is reasonable, assuming it is in the UK.
The flat is about 1000 sq feet, 3 bedrooms, everything has to be done. New electrical wiring, windows, floors, kitchen, bathroom, wc, aircons. All this comes to about 130k. On top of that there is a water leakage problem from the flat roof and some of the interior walls need to be fixed due to water damage. Fixing the roof and the walls cost another 50k.
Does that make sense?
Is that comparable to cost in the UK please?

    Struth. To central London maybe.

I think you should look for someone cheaper.
  • So let's get this straight - your flat needs new windows, walls, floors and roof, wiring, heating, kitchen, bathroom and wc? That's not a renovation, that's a new build!

Come on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.
  • Yeah well almost a new build, really everything needs to be done. It has been neglacted for the last 30 years but it is in a good central location and worth fixing hopefully.
  • Sounds like you being done. Singapore is not a cheap place for many things but it for work like this it is.
To rewire a whole flat maybe S$4000 inc sockets and switches. plaster and paint the whole flat $6000. Tile the whole flat $8000 plus tiles. Install and tile a bathroom $5000 plus bathroom furniture and fittings. Kitchen $3000 plus cost of kitchen/ appliances. Mini split air con system $6000 Installed. Project manger $3500 per month. Windows and roof no idea but cheaper than UK for sure. Sure if your going for a whole redesign and employing and interior designer and using high end surfaces and finishes it will cost more, but not the money you have been talking about.
