Nationwide Refer a Friend (am I doing this right?)

Got my mum to recommend me to open. Got the switch letter with 'FSW' code. entered it and then went to a second page where they asked for identifying information - so I put mine (as the referred party.) Did I do that right? [b/c it thought they would already know who I am from the FSW code that links me to the referrers code]

    You're over-thinking this.
Just fill in the form with the required info and all will be well

Well, no payment arrived after 30 days so I messaged Nationwide. It turns out that I had entered their code wrongly! It looked like it began "FSW198..... " while it was actually "FSWI98... " The letter I have does have an 'I' rather than a '1' at that position but the font they use does not draw attention to the difference b/c the 'I' is just a plain stroke and is not crossed (as here). Had there also been a '1' present in that long code I would probably have spied that immediately - but there wasn't.

[At least I've now resubbed as per their instructions and I will have to wait the further period]

  • A simple copy/paste of the switch code from the confirmation email was all that I needed when I completed my RAF switch. At least the error was spotted - you should be within the 90 day period it seems so you should still be eligible for the bonus. I'd probably contact Nationwide to confirm that the second form has been received and everything is correct, and then wait for your bonus to turn up - from memory, mine was pretty quick after everything was completed.

Yes, but no email in my case, they responded by letter - that's where I was dependent on sight!

I've met the paying in condition but it's my first complete statement period - ending 30th Jan - and the previous month did not meet the paying in condition. So I'm wondering if Nationwide pays interest (where applic) only at the end of each month - i.e. 31 Jan?

It is always paid on the last day of the month (not sure what time though) assuming you have met the pay-in criteria.

Just checked and mine hasn't been paid in yet but it will at some point today.
