Previously had a Wilson flyer this was about 16/17ft and if I recall was under 750kg on trailer with a single 40hp outboard. I’m of a vintage that should allow me to drive up to 8.25 MAM but will double check, think you can do this online now via gov.uk with your licence number.
(3.5t -> 7.5t) + 750kg under C1E, sure - but any trailer over 3.5t MAM is outside normal BE rules, no matter the MAM or GTW of the combo.

Thanks AdrianC you seem clued up on this I suspect I may well have some questions around this, currently trying to get my head round it all.
  • Actual weight of the trailer when laden with the boat is important for the selection of tow vehicle.

MAM of the trailer is important for driving licence purposes if you passed your test under the new rules (post 1997 or so) as you will have different entitlements for towing from those of us that passed before then.
