Nissan Xtrail Timing Chain Help please

Hi, I bought a Nissan XTrail 07 about 2 years ago, it has had one problem after the other, I paid £5000 for it and thought it would last me forever. The timing chain went on it just over a year ago, had that replaced at a cost of £700, it started stalling again in the cold mornings, and I had to sit and constantly Rev it to get it going, I took it back to my little local garage and they have saw the timing chain has gone again and as it is over a year old I would have to pay again, they have said its not worth doing and to sell it at auction, i just had three new tyres on it £150, £70 for something else ( can't remember what it was), I have spent such a lot of money on it that I don't know what to do, I don't have a spare £700 to get it fixed. Is the timing chain suppose to go so quickly, I don't do very many miles.
Thank you to anyone who can help

Did the chain get replaced on its own? Or did the chain get replaced along with all the guides, tensioners and sprockets?0

Start the engine up and when it is running open the bonnet and go listen to it. Is there a rattling noise at the opposite end to the gearbox? If not then it isn't the chain. When chains get worn they rattle.
Also what is the service history before you bought it like? The tensioners for chains use oil pressure. If a vehicle hasn't been serviced regularly then the oil galley that feeds the tensioner gets blocked up with crud so the tensioner no longer works properly. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. The tensioners fail on these, and the chain guides.
Apparently, the engine has to come out to change the chain, which is why it is so expensive.

Sorry I don't know, all I no is it cost £700 and took about 5 hours to do, it started stalking not long after so they did it again for free. But when it happened before it would stall all the time, when I stopped at junctions, all the time, this feels different, once it gets going it's ok till I go out in the afternoon then it won't start very well but once it does it keeps going.0
