How do I restore a lost FONT, please?

I have Microsoft Word 2000, windows 98se, and somehow have lost the font SIGNATURE. I like it and would like to restore it.
I have even downloaded this font from other sites, but then do not know how to OPEN the file and get WORD 2000 to use it.
Your help will be appreciated, THANK YOU, Linda

Fonts are installed on the system and then any package can use them. See here for instructions.:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Click "Start" then "Run".
In the run box types the word "fonts" (without the speech marks).
Copy and paste the downloaded font into the folder that has opened up (fonts should usually be of .ttf or .otf filetype).
Restart Word and it should be up and running again.0
