I don't think it has so much shifted as OP's living in fantasy land any way you slice it. I am a landlord and I stand by my choice, these investments seem to work for me, but that doesn't change the fact that OP's figures don't remotely add up to what he wants to achieve. Had his figures been different/more realistic, I imagine the advice might have had a rather different tone as well.0 -

It's sad to laugh at people who've done badly, also sad to laugh at those who've done very well and one could learn from.0 -
Many really won`t be laughing though, it depends on the size of the debt they took out for the "investment" I suppose.0
