Toys r us store refund policy?

  • In all retailers I've worked in, and there are a few(!) it has always been 28 days. If not contact your local trading standards on your mobile in front of them. That should do the trick!

Alternatively, ask for a credit note or gift card to the value if your thinking of buying something else from them. That way they know they're keeping a sale.
  • My original question seems to have been lost in all the exchanges, I know the obvious now is just to go and ask!

But it is an unopened toy that was brought 7 days ago, I have just changed mind, which legally means I have no right to a refund, but what I wanted to know was do they operate like say Argos that its a no questions money back if you have receipt etc within 28 days even if you just chage your mind?

    Thanks again
  • Tried to take an item back before on same basis and they said no refund. I even had a problem getting a refund from them on a faulty item!

I dont shop there anymore and stick to Argos etc who are much better with refunds.

I bought a toy last xmas and hid it at my parents house. Promptly forgot all about it, and it was only discovered in June! I phones Toys R Us, who said it would be fine to return, as long as it was still sealed, etc.
When I got instore, the assistant didn't want to refund, but I quoted the telephone call, and she changed her mind!
I think it may be down to luck, then. I would say phone them, and if they agree to a refund, make sure you get the name of the person you dealt with.
