Strange Ebay

I have been using ebay for years but don't always understand how it works.
I used 'but it now' to buy a phone recently and it all went through fine. I decided I would buy another from the same buyer a few weeks later but although the listing allows you to choose the quantity the buy it now button has been replaced with a 'buy another' button and clicking on it brings up the following error message
" This item isn't available in the requested quantity. It may have been purchased already, or the listing has expired."
How can this happen when the listing is still up? Admittedly, there is a message in the page telling me "The listing below has been updated by the seller, but you can see the item you purchased."
But as far as I can see there should not be a problem stopping me from buying another. Anyone have a clue about this?

Are you using the link from the original purchase to try and buy as that will show the listing as it is but possibly not have the live available number. I had a craft item like that, found my original purchase, clicked to buy another one and it wouldn't let me. When I searched the sellers shop online 'live' the item was there but showed no available items to buy- they were just place holding until they could restock.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I've just gone to the sellers page and it is still listed there but when I go to it, it still comes up with the page saying 'but it again'.
The message
'The listing below has been updated by the seller, but you can see the item you purchased.'makes me think that perhaps the item has been changed but because I bought it, I will always get the non updated listing for some reason.
Can someone check out vodafone first phone from ebay seller argos and tell me if they get a listing for it and if they do is it a 'buy it now'?0 -
I've just checked using a different browser and this time got a more useful error message. It turns out that you are limited to only one purchase of this item hence the reason I could not follow through with buying another. So now it makes sense. Thanks for looking in.0
