CCJ Claim form and DRO Help

Received a claim form dated 4th December from Cabot for about 4.5k on an old aqua high interest card that I struggled with, probably incurred about 2k in interest charges. I acknowledged the claim on 14th of December as received it on this day in the post.
What do I do with regards to this claim now as it’s about to run out so I either need to defend, or fill out the income expenditure etc.
Upon receiving the claim I finally wised up to the facts my debts are out of control, and I’ve no way of really getting rid of them. I’ve finally managed to land myself a decent job with a salary that means we are comfortable. But these old debts from previous years of unstable jobs and spending to help with depression I just can’t dent.
How should I go about it all, get the CCJ and add it to the DRO, or defend the CCJ saying it’s going to be added to a DRO anyway and explain the situation?

Sorry, only just noticed your post.
From 'it’s going to be added to a DRO anyway' it sounds like you are in the process of applying for a DRO. A bit more info and background here would be helpful but I'll assume you will be getting one in the next two months.
It really doesn't matter too much what you do. Your time to defend expires after 28 + 5 days, so that would be 6 Jan. If you do nothing they will then apply for judgement in default and you will get an order to pay 'forthwith' in late January. They would be unlikely to get any enforcement going within a further month.
If you wanted to make an offer of payment (obvs show you have less than £50 per month), maybe objecting to the balance figure there is guidance here

If you wanted to put in a defence it would have been better to have been working on it for the past two weeks but there is guidance here:

Edit: saying it’s going to be added to a DRO anyway and explaining the situation does not constitute a defence0
