So maybe a new name will give me even more incentive to save money.

    Hi everyone
I haven't been on the last couple of days, trying to cut down on computer time. So up to 8 nsd so far because of all the food I have in, but having some strange meals!! I have been doing a bit more sorting and it is surprising what you will give away when you're in the right mood, I hope I don't live to regret some of it.

So another quiet day for me tomorrow, a bit more sorting to do and then I must start on my unfinished jumper again.

I do agree with you natnat that not buying stuff is less stressful. If the answer to 'which one should ia buy'\?' Is 'none of them' then decision making is easy. Just saying no this month to buying has been rather calming. I have been tothe shops for food and went with a well planned list and meal plan so all on plan and cheap. I'm away for the weekend visiting my son but it shouldnt be too expensive - he works in a theatre and has got us free tickets to a show.
    Trying to keep in budget.

Hi fruguys and gals and before I forget, I think I prefer 'Life is for living' to Ploppy, as a frugal challenge name, so welcome to your new username and I hope life gets exciting in your household this year. :)

No serious spends this week aside from paying to get the rescued caravan delivered - I won't post photos here but those who follow elsewhere will know where to find them. This will be my summer project - it is seriously pink with white and yellow flowers on it! Now I just need to find someone as crazy as myself to help renovate it. :)
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I have challenged myself to not buy any clothes or shoes in 2019. Except underwear which I do need. I ordered somethings in the N3xt sale just before Christmas and kidded myself that these were bought in 2018 so didnt count. They arrived last week. Today I took them all back. Dont need them :D

Shoes were one thing I did need to buy. Got a number of pairs today (had extra in pay this week due to untaken holidy in 2018) should cover all eventualities.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.
  • I getting to understand my budget more now and I think what I have set is realistic...And could even be improved upon. Used a calculator on mse that shows what my take home is after tax etc.. If I stick to my budget I will save £4750 :0 . That's my credit card gone and well over £1000 in savings towards my planned home improvements. I'm wondering if I can cut my clothing budget too. The budget app is really motivating me.

Have been managing NSD's during the week. Had temp job this week and there again next week. Have got date for carpet/lino to be fitted in 2 weeks time. That will be the final thing that I have planned for the flat. Carpet/lino were in the sale and got a code for an extra 10% off from the shops website. The curtains I got were also in an sale. They are up and the old ones thrown away.
