First Direct - lots of problems today

Had been seeing occasional errors when doing basic tasks such as reviewing previous statements and now my Faster Payment made out of account still has not reached destination more than 2 hours later.

Faster Payments are only guaranteed to arrive at the destination account by the end of the following business day. There is definitely no reason to assume the transaction will be completed the same day over a bank holiday (or within two hours). Be patient.
And happy ChristmasI work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job0 -
I've found any larger amount say over £1k transferred out over a weekend or non business day seems to take longer than 2 hrs, maybe next day. If I need to do it at such a time for a larger amount I do it in two payments below £1k seems to work faster.0

I did 3 separate faster payments from lloyds to tesco bank on Monday totalling nearly 25k. the first was at 8.23 am, the second 4.50pm and the third 5.10pm. presently only the second shows in the tesco account, 4.5k. the other two were 15k and over 5k. so some 20k still to make an appearence!! I got the bank details correct each time(verified by lloyds Monday evening). should I be worried??0

They are probably stuck awaiting approval from the fraud team due to the amounts and multiple transfers.
It will add extra time to the transfer and you may even get a call from the bank to confirm.0 -

This really
My wife had this with First Direct, we've both been customers for years. I move money around on a regular basis so no problems she does occasionally. The one time she wanted to move a large amount to a new payee she ended up having to ring up as the payement had took over 24hrs. She was put through to their fraud/security/anti money laundering folk, after a few questions answered the payment was authorised later that day.0 -
It was a single payment to an existing payee and not a large amount. Fraud team, etc. were not involved. Customer service confirmed "systems were slow today". Payment went through in the end about 7 hours later.0

I don't understand why people come back to post things like this. What has your reply achieved?
Anyway, Faster Payments are processed 24/7, so no, holidays are only supposed to affect standing orders.0 -
