How to put an offer in writing for property

Posts: 1 Newbie
My bf has been asked to put an offer in writing for a house to the estate agents although Ive been given the task of doing it! So, what exactly must go into one of these, apart from the offer itself of course
Does anyone know of a template of this type of letter? Any help would be greatly appreciated because I'm stumped and I know that it is very important to set the right impression in something like this!
Thanks!

Dear EA
<address of property>
We/I would like to make an offer of £xxx,xxx in respect of the above property, subject to contract.
On confirmation that this is acceptable to the vendor, we shall confirm the name and address of our solicitors.
We very much hope that our offer will be accepted and look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely

Sounds a good letter dept free chick, I thought you just phoned through with your offer and EA did the rest :rolleyes: just shows what I don't know.
Good luck with the move... JulieIf winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0 -
You might say your offer includes carpets and curtains just so the vendor can't turn around later and exclude them.0

You can just phone it through, but most will want a confirmation by letter, fax or email. I have no idea why as offers are not really worth anything until the contracts are exchangedWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -

Depends on what the sales particulars state - they might already be stated as "excluded" or "subject to separate negotiation".Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0
