Quick Microsoft Office Question ...

If I've bought Home & Student Office for "one user" and I still have the product code, will it download on a new laptop? Using the same email address.
I don't have to buy it again, do I?

If it is not already installed on another computer, then it's OK.

What have you done with the previous computer / office program ? As long as you have uninstalled it there should be no problems. If you have sold the computer on with it still installed the MS systems could pick up on the duplicate.

    Thanks :)
It's still installed on the one I have, haven't yet bought another laptop, but have my eye on one.
Do I just uninstall as normal, I don't need to go into my Microsoft account and do anything there? I had a look, but couldn't see anything but the product key.

Just uninstall it from the old computer and install it on the new computer. You can go into your MS account to make sure it has been deactivated from the old computer.

It's probably changed, but back in the day a single MS Office licence would let you install on two machines -- a "portable" one in addition to a "main" computer.

It was allowed with Office 2010 but as far as I know, the EULA for Office 2016 didn't make any mention of it.
Even so, as it's 2 laptops that the OP will have, they still couldn't legally have it on both machines.

Update: Surprisingly, there wasn't anything to worry about! I uninstalled on my old laptop and reinstalled on the new one, and it appears to be working!
    Thanks all for the advice.
