Reducing prescription drug costs

Options
Hey all,
Wasn't sure if there was a thread on this already, but is anyone out there an expert/ or has experience with saving money on prescription (and non-prescription, OTC) meds? Basically I'm on a handful of prescription meds for chronic illness (non-psych) and a couple OTC (vitamin, etc) for general wellness and occasional pain. I've been looking into the whole online pharmacy thing to try and get bulk savings but am a little unsure of where to find reputable sources. I've heard that Canada is a reliable source and that some states along the border like Michigan/North Dakota even allow people to cross the border to buy. Wondering if there could be a mail order option as well?

Thanks!

  • Why don't you just get a prepayment certificate for £104 and have unlimited prescriptions for the equivalent of £2 a week?
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

DBlenks90, which country are you in?

Most posters on this forum are UK based so prescriptions on the NHS are all the same cost and if you have lots you buy a prepayment certificate which covers everything for a monthly fee
Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.

Or alternatively, move to Scotland or Wales, where they're all free anyway.
  • They’re in the US, so unfortunately moving to Scotland or Wales is a bit far!

OP, I’d find some advice from a fellow American - our system is very different in the UK :)

Are you having difficulty understanding that this is a UK forum and the vast majority of people posting on it will have no personal knowledge of the the US healthcare system, and even less of dubious methods of obtaining prescription medication? I suggest you look elsewhere for assistance.

Typical yank, not a clue anywhere outside the US actually exists. Probably wondering to himself “what’s a UK??”
