Mrs_Ryan - I once rang Harrods - to order four custard apples (they're fruit) that he had seen in store and told me how he had had them once and they were amazing etc so I decided to buy some for our anniversary almost fainted when they cost me £45! They were lovely on the phone but I can't decide if they usually get odd requests or if they thought I was a bit strange. Any way, said apples were disgusting but my husband still says it was the best present he has ever received!

Just spotted this, please keep an eye on Asda, they sell these. It was where I first tried them. Have to say I loved them mind. https://groceries.asda.com/product/mango-kiwi-exotic-fruit/asda-growers-selection-custard-apples/910001361646

Hi guys , just popping in to say hello the other day has got me feeling all Christmassy :xmastree::xmastree::xmastree:

Yesterday picked up some Lol chocolate bars for friends little girls birthday on the 19th October, need to decide her "main" birthday and Xmas prezzie. Although , her and her brother (11) have asked more for time with me , which is heartwarming . So also considering joint special days out.

Mum is obsessed with sloths , she has bedding , pjs , teddies , phone case ever so need different sloth based ideas. My best friend and her husband I'm stuck on too.

Right off to work, have a great day everyone xx

  • I’ve done a bit more Christmas shopping from the following:

Studio – Christmas pj’s for the boys, 4 x Mr Men ‘Surviving Motherhood’ books for some friends and an ipad lap tray for DH from the boys.
B&M – Pringles cracker for DH, Cadbury’s Snowballs for DH’s stocking and some Max Factor mascara for my friends stocking.
Dunelm – bauble candle for MiL’s stocking, Guinness caramel chocolate for FiL’s stocking.
Etsy – a beautiful hand crafted watch stand for my dad.

I’m making a few stockings this year, for the boys and DH as usual but also for an old friend that has come back into my life, she’s had a troubled few years and I don’t imagine she has had a stocking since she was young so I thought it might be nice for her. I’m also going to make them for my MiL and FiL as I think it’ll be a lovely novelty for them. It might just be me who thinks this but I feel like stockings are exciting at any age!

Squeak and I are full of cold and yesterday I just wanted to sit and watch mindless TV, so I recorded a programme called ‘Things We Love About Christmas’ that was on Channel 5, it’s entertaining and making me feel sooo Christmassy!

mandco bless Taz obviously takes after you! My best friend was telling me that her son (my Godson) has been busy planning Christmas. Not just his list, but everything – what they’re going to do, the schedule for the day etc! :rotfl:

Clumsy thanks for the heads up about Dunelm and the Boots catalogue.

Junior that’s so sweet that your friends children asked for more time with you!
  • Hi, I have been reading through and ticking over. Mother had her last radiotherapy a few weeks ago and still as tough as old boots. Thank you for the messages and thankyou murie for the messages.
Decided that we are going to go more for some nice food rather than unnecessary presents. Ds is not fazed with presents but enjoys the season so we are going to embrace that. Obviously some token gifts in a stocking but useful bits and pieces. A relaxed Christmas will be on the cards.
Hopefully the rain will pass soon and I can finish getting the garden winter ready, definitely embracing the autumnal feel.
Hugs to all that need them x
  • Hello everyone, just popped in to say hello.

I have been really busy with my blog, instagram and doing overtime at work but so excited that all the Christmas stock is appearing everywhere. Christmas is 13 weeks today!!!

Glad to see everyone is making good progress. I have done lots of shopping already, but it mainly seems to be decorations, I really need to get some presents in the bag, although I don't actually like getting done too early and I like to wait for all the new stock to be out. Picked up a few bits here and there but nothing substantial yet. Did my first ever Etsy shop and I'm hooked, so many beautiful things :j, I find it takes so much time to get online shopping done, I take ages looking and deciding what to buy, really pleased that i'm on Instagram now and stuff I love just appears like magic, I have found so many lovely sellers.:T:T:T

Some Christmas stock is now up on M&S website and John Lewis Christmas shop launches tomorrow! Exciting times.

Have a lovely day guys. Joyfullyfestive.

  • Clumsy - I had a look on DUnelm website after you mentioned it. Some lovely stuff on there & the trees are reasonably priced. My sister is looking for a new one so I've told her to have a look.
Princess Kitty - wow you've got loads sorted. I need to get going with my shopping but have to wait until we move really. I can't wait to get started.
Girlinayellowdress - sending best wishes to your mum. Your Christmas sounds lovely.
Joyfullyfestive - I love walking round the Christmas aisles in the shops now & keep checking different websites to see the christmas ranges as they are launched. Etsy is fabulous, so many lovely things on that I'd like to buy!

Still not buying anything just yet because of our imminent move, but I am keeping my ideas written down so I don't forget what I have planned for people. I just can't wait to get started with my shopping, I've usually made a start by now on little things so I'm getting a bit fed up that I haven't been able to yet.

    Hiya all
Afraid I’ve gone a bit mad on buying presents :D my study currently resembles Santa’s grotto :D
    I’ve bought-
    For OH-
a cardigan (from Primarni, bit of a bargain for what it is) 3 pairs of Calvin Klein boxers (3 pairs for £33 or £11 per pair, thought that was pretty reasonable) a Jack Wills beanie hat set (Boots 3 for 2) A litre bottle of Nando’s medium sauce (from Debenhams, it was pricy but he adores the stuff- bought him one last year and he still refills the bottle!) 5 pairs of ‘work’ socks (he wears steel toe cap boots to work and these are specially designed) Just ordered his calendar and I’ve ordered some shower gel from Avon.
For best friend 1- some Jack Wills body sprays and a Victoria’s Secret spray
Best friend 2- Snow Fairy soap and 2 Snow Fairy bath bombs, plus a lint roller thing which is for ‘crazy cat ladies’
Mum- some Cath Kidston hand creams
    Dad- hankies x 3
    Sister- some fluffy socks
I’m actually dreading having to wrap all this stuff up :D
