Charity Shops and hand made items

A Charity shop near us has told me that they will not accept anything hand made as they are not allowed to sell them. Hand made items are sent straight to a recycling centre, which presumably pays something for them. I'm quite shocked about this policy, which I've never heard of anywhere else. Tried ebay. Nothing sold.

Esty has this stange rule where it says you have to display your business address to buyers. I wasn't happy with my home address being on the web so I chickened out of that one!

I've volunteered in charity shops that considered the majority of what was donated not fit for sale so I'm really reluctant to donate now.
