Apart from lack of power supply, and hence freeing up one wall socket, does the NowTV stick have any advantage(s) over the NowTV box?

It still needs power from somewhere. So unless you have a spare usb you still need a socket.

Could never use USB power source as insufficient power from tv. Now have Amazon prime and Netflix and happy to throw Sky in the bin.

Ah. I took one look and thought it was getting power from the HDMI ...

No real advantage over the box, then, apart from voice activation and not taking up shelf space.
  • I'm interested in a comparison of the two also. I'm assuming that maybe the stick is quicker and doesn't buffer so much? I've got the box, and using it is clunky. Very often live sport is just a blur and almost unwatchable.

The boxes also have Ethernet as well as Wi-Fi which can be useful.

Don't know, but must be about 4 years old, and is white.
  • The box gives you access to basic Freeview over the stick if you plug an aerial into it but then a decent Smart TV should be able to give you most of what you can get with either.

So the first one, any later box or stick maybe be better, the later are all black (boxes) or grey or black (sticks).
