Seems DWP computers cannot add up-

Stating £2,400 odd take home pay reported for latest claim period, though total (inc hol pay etc) I've had since leaving job 2 months ago was less than that..

also- - only a fraction of this was within the date ranges given? (earlier amounts already logged, in previous month tally..)

unsurprisingly, getting shunted from number to number when i call to query today, so have sent message via UC account..

deduction for calculation is £1500- doesn't mention i owe any shortfall though??

Rent will have to wait, if not sorted by eom!

If the earnings were £2400 a deduction of £1512 would be correct because the rate of deduction is 63% of earned income.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
  • had breakdown of gross/net pay from old employer, backing me up, but no way to upload copy to UC for review.. someone's messed up big time!

I am not saying that the DWP has not messed up but UC gets information for HMRC - called Real Time Information.

    See this link:

    https://revenuebenefits.org.uk/universal-credit/guidance/entitlement-to-uc/rti-and-universal-credit/

It could be that your employer has 'messed up'.

If you cannot upload copies to your journal then try writing all your earnings (taken from your bank statement) with the dates and ask for a mandatory reconsideration of their payment decisions.

They will need to take copies of bank statements so that a case manager can review the RTI feeds and over rule them if needed.

All the op needs to do is scan and attach them (bank statements and/or payslips showing dates of payment) to a message in their journal or book an appointment at their local jobcentre and a work coach should be able help them with it.
  • have got an email from old firm, stating amounts/dates.. how the total DWP came about i never know..

no one at either end seems to understand..

hope gets sorted asap, @ jobcentre this week..

Someone doing your employers payroll has added the income details on HMRC system that DWP has received.

DWP only receive payroll data from HMRC that has been added within the assessment period.

If you have an online UC account, you can call UC and ask for a document upload to-do to be added, so you can upload copies of wage slips and bank statements. UC will need both wage slips and bank statements, so the team that investigates HMRC data can look into this properly. HMRC might need to contact the employers if necessary, which will cause a delay.

If you cannot upload documents, Job Centre can take copies of documents and raise a dispute for you.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.
  • You can look at the information your employer has sent to HMRC on your personal tax account on gov.uk.
