scs horror story please help!

hi.
please could anyone advise or help me deal with scs.
i bought a corner sofa from scs about 2 months ago.
about 3 weeks ago i noticed one of the seats had ripped at the seam.
so i called scs customer services.........numerous times over 3 days, (every single time i phoned up i had to explain what was wrong with the product).
they then arranged for an upholsterer to come round and have a look.
he did , took a photo and said that it was a manufacturing fault because they had over stuffed the cusion & it wasn't stitched properly on the inside.
not something you would expect from a product after just 2 months of normal wear & tear. - (if it's like that after 2 months , what's it going to be like in 2 years time?)
i then showed him the other 3 seats which look like they are just about to rip (stitching is very stretched at the seams) , he then said he couldn't do anything with the other 3 because they had not ripped.
this wound me up no end - not only did i have to phone up numerous times, i also explained that i would not be satisfied with just one seat being replaced.
i don't normally get stressed about things , but when they cost well over £1000 it's enough to tip anyone over the edge.
this corner sofa is still under warranty.
all four seats have bad manufaturing defects on them.
can i refuse to get them repaired?
should i just try and get the seats replaced?
have i got any rights to accept nothing other that a full replacement corner sofa?
the upholsterer is booked to come round next wednesday.
please help - advise.

Write to them, if they won't do anything have a look at your local council trading standards website for template letters to send because the sofa appears to be unfit for the purpose.0

If you want to do it the legal way, just tell the retailer you are not happy that the other seams have also shown signs of beginning to rip, and if they don't repair the whole lot you will be taking the matter to the Small claims court.
Hint, take photos before and after repair.0 -
Razorblade on the stretched stitching?
that has crossed my mind , it seems the only way to get all 4 seats replaced!
now then......where did i put them!!!
many thanks.0 -
Have a look at Consumer Direct and give them a ring

i was just about to phone consumer direct & the phone rang.
it was scs telling me they have ordered 4 more seats for my sofa.

a similar thing happened to me
after 1 week i noticed a 1cm slice on my leather recliner it was on the bit that comes up
any way they came out an said they will fix it
ok fine
but
they glued it
i called them back and said i wasnt happy they seaid it had been professionally fixed an nothing more could be done
but now i had a sofa that was flawed through no fault of my own and as i had paid for a brand new sofa i didnt feel like i had one
they refused to offer compensation but in reality thats not what i wanted i wanted an un flawed soafa so i told them to cancell the credit agreement an come pick it up which they did i then bought from somewhere else an am glad because i got a great deal0 -

My opportunity to learn something. Were you within some sort of period for cancelling a credit agreement, or can you cancel at anytime?
Did you pay a portion of the purchase price by cash or card, so you did not get that refunded? i.e. at the end of the day were you out of pocket on the deal?
When you cancel a credit agreement do you not have to pay off the remaining balance?
I seem to remember something about credit agreements relating to cars, you cancel and return the car, you owe nothing but they keep all payments to date. Is this how it works for everything on credit agreements?0
