Wireless second TV box? Virgin, Sky or BT?

Coming to the end of our fixed term contracts for Sky TV and broadband in the next few months, so open to all options.
Ideally, we want a way of watching live & recorded TV in other rooms of the house via the broadband/wifi rather than having the second and third box wired to a sky dish, telephone cable or ethernet cable.
Been looking at the websites but it's not really clear exactly what each provider requires for the multi-room options. Would be good to just plug the box/tv into the mains and connect to the home wifi, but I'm not sure if that's even possible.
As we are suffering a awfully slow BT copper cable broadband connection, I'm looking at Virgin for cabled internet so it would make sense to use Virgin for TV too, but not if BT or Sky have better/easier multi room options.

Not sure if this is the solution for you but this is what works for me (I've copied this from another thread I posted it in):
SkyGO Extra can be used through an Xbox (360 or One) / Playstation (3 or 4) console.
**It has to be the SkyGo extra not the standard SkyGo.**
Dependent on how long you have been with Sky it might be possible to get SkyGo extra as part of their Sky VIP perks.
If you don't have a console you should be able to pick one up pretty cheaply (Xbox 360's / Playstation 3).
Bonus is if there's nothing you fancy watching on telly you can have a quick blast of a game! Was it really "everybody" that was Kung Fu fighting ???0 -
Both Virgin and Sky use WiFi to connect the 2nd box (not sure about BT as I know little about them) but as ever it depends on the WiFi signal and unfortunately other peoples experiences won't necessarily translate to your case as there's far too many variables to consider.
Edit: Apparently Virgin still needs to connect by coax cable.0 -
We have heard that Sky were going to put the TV over broadband rather than through a dish, BUT we had also expected it to be done before now, maybe they are having trouble getting broadband speeds up to spec, but I would imagine it won't be too long before you can stream everything through sky.
SkyQ connects the secondary boxes through the WiFi, BUT you need to have good WiFi throughout the house. This can be achieved through Powerline connectors etc, assuming the whole house is on the same power circuit. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
The VM box and additional VM boxes need the TV connection as well as being connected thru WiFi. So you have to pay for additional boxes. Because the latest VM boxes do not have a Scart connection the old style Video senders do not work. According to the "Virgin Media community forum" a number of people have tried using HDMI video senders, or HDMI to SCART converters but not many seem to be successful. Also on this forum there seem to be solutions that use various cable connections but a bit too technical for me.0

OP - I would try and do a deal with Sky.0

BT boxes require a TV aerial connection and Ethernet or power line for catchup etc as they are Youview boxes.0 -
Thanks for all comments. Looks like it's going to be Virgin for Broadband and sky q for TV then.0

This post is wrong, Virgin dont use Wifi to get pictures on the second box, it needs a coax0 -
