Good evening,
I am looking for some advice on how I can get my money back from LivingSocial following failure to provide the services that I have paid for? :(

In summary:
1. I made a purchase from LivingSocial and the vendor could not honour the deal
2. I requested a refund from LivingSocial, which was returned in credit to my account (minus an admin fee)
3. I made another purchase from LivingSocial using the credit on my account
4. The second vendor also will not honor the deal as advertised
5. I have requested a final cash refund, but to date LivingSocial are refusing to honor this request

Comments

  • In detail:
I initially bought a gift voucher from LivingSocial for spa services several months ago using my debit card to complete the online transaction. On attempting to redeem the voucher (well in advance of the vouchers stated expiration date) I found out that the business offering the service is closed.

I requested a refund for my purchase. This was returned as a credit to my LivingSocial account, rather than as a refund to my card, minus a £2 admin fee! I requested the refund be transferred from the LivingSocial account credit back to my Debit Card. This request was ignored.

I subsequently used the credit to make another purchase from LivingSocial. On attempting to redeem the voucher this time, the business have now stated there is no availability to make any bookings with my voucher for the next four months, but I can spend an additional £19per person to make a booking during that same timeframe.

As it is obvious that the vendor will not honor the deal as advertised, I want a full refund for my purchase, and have no faith in dealing with LivingSocial any further. They are refusing to return a cash refund to me though, arguing that they are only obligated to return a credit to their services since credit was used for the second purchase.

Now I'm looking for any advice in getting my money back. I don't want a credit, with the time constraints associated with this, or the obligation to purchase any further services through LivingSocial.

    Any help is gratefully received!
