Use Nested. They'll pay you before it sells so you can move on with your life. Commission is 3.5% I think0

It’s a 5 bed 3 bath house and in appaling condition but structurally looks sound. Boiler isn’t working properly, new bathrooms, kitchen, need I go on. Imagine those programmes about hoarders and you will have some idea.
Any ideas on cost to clear? I have the financial papers etc. It’s really not possible to go through it all paper by paper. It a health hazard. The road itself is lovely with an outstanding school at the end of it.
I wouldn`t throw away 50 year old newspapers.0 -
I forget to ask, but have you had local agents visit and give you a better idea of the value in the current climate?"enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0

You may need them to keep warm for when your landlord kicks you out and you are sleeping rough because you forgot to buy somewhere to live.0 -
All, I can see I didnt update on what eventually happened.
We cleared the house using a house clearance company. It cost £8.5k. It was that bad. I now know I had most of the important paperwork. Over the months as his post was being redirected to me companies found me. My Father's finances are now straight as they can be. He is in care and in a safer place.
However - his house... We had people literally falling over themslves. Begging letters from potential buyers and it went well over the asking price using Sealed Bids. New owners lived around the corner in rented. Estate agent said he wished all sales were as easy as that. We didnt even clean it, we cleared it completely but no cleaning! Its being gutted now and so glad it went to a nice family.
EA fee was 1% so I think we did OK in the end.

I'm not sure why you think there is a rush . Is it for care home fees (as the amount of other assets would cover these for some time as most people could work out fairly quickly) or are you wanting to sell quick for other reasons0 -
