Good morning,
I have just looked on my credit file, and I can see I have one account which has various states on it. They are D (Default) and US (Unknown Status). What is the difference in these two states regarding statute barred? Thank you.

Unknown means it not being updated.
A debt is statute barred after 6 years with no acknowledgment.0 -
Thank you very much; so the different status reports do not affect the debt becoming statute barred?0

Nope. Statute Barred means that anything that has exceeded the time stated cannot be taken into account or actioned on any more. For most things financial the time limit is 6 years. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
