Hi we've got a shower above our bath its not the best shape and water leaks over the side (even around the partition). Is there a combined bath/partition solution or does anyone know a way to avoid this? We're going to be replacing the bath anyway

What you want (if you can afford it!) is a shower bath - basically its a bath with a extra "bulge" at one end which gives you that little bit more room to have your nice hot shower without that cold touching screen/curtain moment!
We had one in our old house (sighs wistfully!) and even with a power shower the only time you got water coming over the side was if you were a bit aggressive washing the screen down with the shower (forced water under neath). This is our one - http://www.aquabathroomcentre.co.uk/onlineshop/view_product.php?product=bath_adam_shower_mezza&PHPSESSID=df50ae1fd3053537be57bf91c74a02d0
I've no idea if the price/service there is any good I was just googling for the brand. There are certainly more expensive ones, and maybe cheaper ones, but this has a very pleasing circular feel to it which when paired with a circular sink goes together very nicely. There is a shorter version if you are tight for length and you can get them either way round to suit your room. Stick an Aqualisa Quartz shower over it and you'll be in heaven (but maybe not rich anymore!). That shower and bath is the one thing I miss about our old house - a naff instant heat and £1 Tesco shower curtain doesn't compete somehow (it all needs redoing when the kids are a bit older so not worth spending out at present).Adventure before Dementia!0 -
Wickes do a shower bath suite, which is cheaper than buying the bath and panel only. If you buy the suite then sell the pottery etc on ebay. I think the suite is £699. The downside to shower baths is the area to stand in is quite small.0

Do the right thing now (ecologically anyway) and ditch the bath completely on go for a nice big shower - maybe one that is big enough for you and Mrs Samtheman - you'll save water and energy, have more room and, hopefully, more fun to boot!0

I have had the following for a couple of months now:
- Ideal Standard Create 750mm wide rectangular bath - this has a slightly enlarged shower area and to me was a good compromise between a standard bath and a 'P' shaped bath.
- Manhattan M3 250mm fixed panel - less intrusive than a full width panel and siliconed in so water doesn't leak around it
- Standard shower curtain & rail.

the cheapo alternative might be to get a bit more space by having a curved shower raily thingy wotsit http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8326858/Trail/C$cip=1500006664.Personal+care+and+bathroom>C$cip=1500006671.Showers>C$cip=1500006676.Shower+curtains+and+rails.htm

Sounds a nice idea but personally I can't do without a bath sometimes. I have a bad back and sometimes can't move much until the warmth of a bath unlocks me. But I do manage to reuse loads of that water so I don't feel guilty. Also I think the homeowner might need to consider the resale options of his house. Might not be so saleable with just a shower.0
