Hi all,
I have a telephone interview booked with OR on Monday. Now, two more days...I am wondering what kind of interview it will be... bit nervous. How long the interview ? What kind of questions she will ask...etc As far I understand she will go through my application. i.e. how the debt started and why applied bankrupt...
Will be very grateful, if you share your experience or knowledge of this kind of OR telephone interview...
Thanks in Advance !

From what others have posted, it’s just a case of dotting the I’s, and crossing the T’s, they are not there to trip you up or to cause you trouble, there only aim is get you though the process as smoothly as possible.
It’s a fresh start, and that is how you should view it, the OR’s remit is to determine if you have enough disposable income to pay an IPA or not, and the rest of it is just a box ticking exercice.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi Amizaki, I hope this info about my experience will help. The OR’s job is to check the things in your application form, so before the call make sure you have all the paperwork about your debts together. I had been warned by a BR friend that I might be asked about the last date I had used each credit card so I wrote that down which was useful as, sure enough, she did ask me when we talked through the cards. She asked how long the debts had existed and what I had bought with the credit. She also asked when I had realised there was no other choice than BR. She asked about my income and where it came from and also if I had any saleable assets worth more than about £500 (I wish).
She then went through the SOA to check my spending and I had printed out a copy and written a few notes on it. The only things she queried were the water rates and BT bill but I explained the charge for water had been the same for the last 18 months and we are stuck in a contract with BT which has another 9 months to run so she asked to see the BT contract which we emailed and she then said OK. I had been expecting a question about the amount I had put down for optician and dentist but she didn’t even mention it. I thought she might query the food spend which Stepchange said was too high but she didn’t mention that either. At the end of it she said I didn’t have any surplus for an IPA, which was a relief. I didn’t have to send any bank statements or anything so it was all relatively painless but I was definitely glad when it was over and breathed a great sigh of relief. Good luck.0 -
Thanks guys for reply.
broaps that's really helpful. I will now try to write down date of last uses of each credit cards.0 -
Although my BR was a few years ago now - my experience of the telephone interview was ok. It took longer than I expected - about an hour or so and broaps suggestion about having notes to hand is a good one. I had a photocopy of everything I'd sent to the OR and it really helped.
A few other tips are : Go to the loo before you start, have a glass of water on hand to sip, turn off any other phones and lock the doors so you are not interrupted, paper and a pencil to hand.
Try not to 'nervous talk' in any gaps in the conversation - the OR has to record things as they go along (I could hear mine typing in the background) so there are gaps in the conversation.
The OR's job is to get the facts not to judge. I'm sure you'll be fine.0 -
Thanks TheGardener. That really helpful.
I has been asked to send last 12 months bank statements, Credit Cards Statements, 3 Months Wages Slips along sign documents after the OR interview. I forgot to keep a copy of the statements for myself. So, I will do all of them now.0 -
Thats all quite normal and routine, keep calm be honest, you will be fine0

I wasn't asked about the last transactions - but I was asked about some specific transactions over the 2 years of statements the OR had asked for. They were any larger than usual transactions. They were all easily explained in my case - but I had the statements to hand and could see them - that's why I recommended have copies you can look at during the interview.0

Hi TheGardener,
I have been asked to send last 12 months all bank and credit card statements which I sent by post today. Also, kept copies... Will they ask for last year's statements later ? I don't have paper copy..and for some credit cards' online statements only shows last 6 months...
btw, on the interview I was told someone from Manchester will call me next week and will go through my income expenses... is it normal ? I was expecting she will complete that section as well... Now, I have to wait for another telephone interview....:(0
