IWOOT Christmas Delivery deception.

Options
Advertised as being delivered before xmas if ordered before 20th December. I ordered on the 18th. Emailed me today with estimated delivery between 28th and 31st December! Spoke to "Lizi" on live chat who said this was worse case scenario. I pointed out if that was the estimate I'd have to assume it wouldn't turn up and would have to buy another gift just in case. I asked them to refund shipping for the item I'd end up returning as I couldn't wait until xmas eve. She refused.
If you want a last minute gift, don't believe IWOOT's headline delivery promises. Check the estimate on your email if you've already ordered.

Cancel the order and you will get the postage refunded. If it's already shipped then you can return for a refund, including the delivery charge, though you may be liable for the return poatage.

Don't leave buying presents until the last minute, it's not exactly a date which will have slipped your mind.

Many companies will under-promise, then over-deliver in an attempt to please customers. Why not let us know when it arrives?
  • Cancel the order, cancel the card, get onto the local paper. Then get into your car and join the queues at the local emporiums and buy something decent!

You mean like their rights as a consumer? It's the first reply.

You say this, as though it somehow means its OK for companies to try and deceive customers.
