Discharged bankrupt?

Hi all,
I was due to be discharged on 27 October and have just searched the IS website and it says I have been - hurrah! However, I haven't heard from the Receiver or anyone else - I don't have a 'bit of paper' or anything that states I've been discharged - should I have? Is this normal? Any help gratefully received - thanks

Hi simplesibbo,
Unless you get Early Discharge you don't normally receive anything from the O.R. You can either apply to the Court where you were declared bankrupt and they will issue you with a Cetificate of Discharge, that costs £60, or you can contact your O.R's office and ask them for confirmation in writing; for free.
I think I'm going for the fancy certificate and having framed alongside our Statutory Demands and Bankrupty Order.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Thanks for that - I like the idea of the certificate too!0

Try reading this http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/courtfinder/forms/ex160a_e1007.pdf if you can understand it!The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter

Whilst the Insolvency Service does NOT always notify people, by post, it does, often, take up to a month before they get round to letting you know (it's one law for us and another for them  ) so you may still receive written notification from them.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
