Parking Eye 'Cloned plates'?

I have received a Parking Charge Notice from Parking Eye for an overstay at the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead. I live a couple of hundred miles from there and have never visited the site.
The ANPR photos appear to show the same type and colour as my car, although the 6 in my registration could be a 5 in the photo.
The reason that I am suspecting that my plates have been cloned is that I received a Penalty Charge Notice from Dart Charge. Again I was nowhere near there on the date in question. In the ANPR photos for this the car doesn't look like mine.
Your valued advice on how to address this would be appreciated.

Report both instances to your local Police to get an incident log number and then contact DVLA to inform them of a cloned plate.

Try inputting the 5 instead of 6 here https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/

it could be an ANPR read error.
ANPR read errors are more common than cloned plates, especially if you add into the mix that some people like to strategically place screws etc to make a 5 look like a 6, a C look like a G and so on.

Parking Eyes systems are largely automated, if there is a genuine ANPR error, then it could be reasonably argued that parking eye have been somewhat cavalier in accessing/processing your data.
The Royal free hospital are also liable for any actions of their agents.
Under the new GDPR legislation there is a personal liability element, this means that the person in charge ( which could be the estates manager at the hospital) could be held personally liable for the actions of parking eye.

So heres what I would do....

Check to see if it is a cloned plate or an ANPR missread.
If its an ANPR missread then fire on all cylinders with complaints to the ICO, the Hospital, and Parking eye.

If its genuine cloned plates, then you should contact the DVLA

this should take you straight there https://live.email-dvla.service.gov.uk/w2c/en_gb/forms/Vehicles%20General?button=57358000000Gqkk&decision=Any+other+enquiry+about+obtaining+information+from+DVLA+records&lang=en_gb
You should also report this to your local police force.

If it is cloned plates, then you should inform pakring eye of the fact, if you have a smartphone with google maps, you may have a record of your location on that day, log into google maps and look at your time line, take a screenshot and email pakring eye:

To parking eye re parking charge notice ####

I have reason to believe my vehicle number plates have been cloned, as it was not in that location (Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead) at the time.
find attached a screenshot from Google maps/location data that shows that I was not in that location, I was the only driver of the vehicle on that day.
Please ensure that any parking charge notices issued to me as registered keeper of vehicle XXXXX are cancelled with immediate effect

To take a screenshot for google maps: press and hold "alt gr" on your keyboard, then tap the key marked "print screen"

open up something like ms paint, and select paste, use ms paint to redact any unnecessary information, save it as a jpg and attach it to your email
