    I think £250 for mirror wills for a solicitor with a good reputation is not a bad deal.  MSE in the sense that not going for the cheapest but the best value!

    LPA's in your situation can wait a little I think, until you are happy with it

    We did wills from the c00p using a link from mse that was cheaper if that helps - more £150-200 I think
    Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
    1) MFW Nov 21 £202K now £171.8K Equity 36.37%
    2) £2.6K Net savings after CCs 10/10/25
    3) Mortgage neutral by 06/30 (AVC £27.9K + Lump Sums DB £4.6K + (25% of SIPP 1.25K) = 34/£127.5K target 26.6% 10/10/25
    (If took bigger lump sum = 60.35K or 47.6%)
    4) FI Age 60 income target £17.1/30K 57% (if mortgage and debts repaid - need more otherwise) (If bigger lump sum £15.8/30K 52.67%)
    5) SIPP £5K updated 10/10/25
  • Thanks all.... we've booked in to get wills written and will revisit the LPA idea in the new year :)
    The puppy is lovely, but they're such a lot of work!  I feel like I've got another child in the house :D 
    Feeling very tired at the mo, so am very much looking forward to some time off at work.  I've taken screenshots of December annual leave and I think if they try to cancel it, I'll just refuse to go in.  They've basically cancelled all my annual leave since March (give or take a couple of days), I need a break.  My joints ache and I'm worried I'll end up making a mistake at some point.  I've had an informal chat with HR and Occy Health and they were both supportive, suggesting speaking to my union if it happens again.  Several of my colleagues have done the same and the manager is aware, so hopefully it won't arise!
