    As you say the first thing is to track them down. Do you know what % he is paying now and what match he is getting?

    1) MFW Nov 21 £202K now £174.8K Equity 32.77%
    2) £2.6K Net savings after CCs 6/7/25
    3) Mortgage neutral by 06/30 (AVC £24.3K + Lump Sums DB £4.6K + (25% of SIPP 1.2K) = 30.1/£127.5K target 23.6% 29/7/25
    4) FI Age 60 income target £16.5/30K 55.1%

  • He pays 8% and they match it, so pretty decent

  • Next rooms to decorate are ours and one of our daughter's. So far quotes that have been received and agreed are;
    - electrics, moving several sockets around in 1 room and putting extra ones in the other = £300
    - plastering both rooms = £400
    - carpeting both rooms = £400
    - shutter in our room = £300
    so £1400 of our £1500 budget is spoken for already and I know the paint will take up the remaining £100.

    Still to buy;
    - curtains for daughters room, est. cost £100 for pole and curtains as is a wide window
    - light fittings in both rooms, £50-75
    - bedside tables (£80), dressing table (£80) and wardrobes (£1040) in our room from Ike@ will be £1200 in total (long wall of wardrobes!)
    - furniture for other room, also from Ike@ will be £500 as everything needs replacing.

    It'll be the end of March before we'll be at a stage to start on the items we don't yet have the money for, so I think I should have saved enough for her curtains and both lights.
    The other £1700 will have to be saved unless OH bonus is sufficient to pay for it. I'd like to order all the Ike@ stuff together ideally, but I think I'll end up doing daughter's furniture first and then come back to do ours later this year as it's a lot to save!

    Hi SH
    All good thanks, just been very busy with work and home.  Feeling a tad burnt out and no break on the horizon! I'm regretting booking an extra shift for Saturday  :s
    I need to get my head round this new forum format, I'm unsure if I'm keen on it!
    Off to catch up with some diaries, so will see how you've been getting on too  :D
