As you say the first thing is to track them down. Do you know what % he is paying now and what match he is getting?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Next rooms to decorate are ours and one of our daughter's. So far quotes that have been received and agreed are;
- electrics, moving several sockets around in 1 room and putting extra ones in the other = £300
- plastering both rooms = £400
- carpeting both rooms = £400
- shutter in our room = £300
so £1400 of our £1500 budget is spoken for already and I know the paint will take up the remaining £100.
Still to buy;
- curtains for daughters room, est. cost £100 for pole and curtains as is a wide window
- light fittings in both rooms, £50-75
- bedside tables (£80), dressing table (£80) and wardrobes (£1040) in our room from Ike@ will be £1200 in total (long wall of wardrobes!)
- furniture for other room, also from Ike@ will be £500 as everything needs replacing.
It'll be the end of March before we'll be at a stage to start on the items we don't yet have the money for, so I think I should have saved enough for her curtains and both lights.
The other £1700 will have to be saved unless OH bonus is sufficient to pay for it. I'd like to order all the Ike@ stuff together ideally, but I think I'll end up doing daughter's furniture first and then come back to do ours later this year as it's a lot to save!DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Extra shift worked Saturday morning, so £130 earned.
We went to a friend's Birthday party in the evening and stayed the night at the hotel, she'd secured a good deal as part of hiring the hotel for her function, so only cost us £50 bed & breakfast. She also had loads of alcohol supplied, so no spending on top! It was a lovely evening, although with my money saving hat on I was :eek: at how much it all cost her :rotfl:
Chilled day yesterday, so NSD and catching up on chores today, so should also be a NSD!DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Home decorating plans sound fun. The £50 B&B also sounded good.
I love decorating / changing rooms around - but have to watch myself not to do too many things at once. I still need to declutter my study/bedroom 4 as we are planning to put a new bed in there. It seems to have spawned multiple boxes since we cleared it in the summer!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

All good thanks, just been very busy with work and home. Feeling a tad burnt out and no break on the horizon! I'm regretting booking an extra shift for Saturday
I need to get my head round this new forum format, I'm unsure if I'm keen on it!
Off to catch up with some diaries, so will see how you've been getting on tooDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)
