I had confirmation of the new tariff on 2nd December and was told it would be 3 - 4 weeks before I would hear any more about my account being set up, so I have not got to the point yet where I can consider other providersA chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion0

Same here. I'm hoping to hear about my account being set up soon as I'm keen to get it sorted.0 -

I wouldn’t wait that long as meter readings have to go through a 10 to 14 day transfer validation process before an online account is set up.

If Scottish Power is listed as your supplier, then you are free to initiate another switch. Use ‘SayNoto0870’ to avoid the 0870 telephone charge. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Thank you, Hengus. This is very helpful. The link shows Scottish POwer as supplying my energy. Am I in any danger of losing my credit balance (that I'm trusting has transferred safely from EE) if I initiate a switch without having having access to (and therefore being able to check) my Scottish POwer balance?0
