car insurance and no claims

I had a business lease for 4 years and lost my 13 years no claims. I recently purchased a second hand car and my insurance was around £150 per month so my partner insured it in his name for £96 per month as a second vehicle (so unable to use his no claims) and I am a named driver on that insurance.
the insurance will come to an end soon and I need to know what is best to do?
do I go down as the sole user of the vehicle? (will I get any no claims from being a named driver this past year) or do I continue as a named driver with my partner being insured ?

Your best option is to visit an insurance comparison site and put your details in there.

Being a named driver means you still have no NCB built up in your own name and could also get you in trouble for fronting since you are the main and probably only driver, and is likely to lead to insurance cancellation should it be discovered.

Some companies do offer starter NCB but do go and compare and see what you can find.

EDIT - If your lease ended less than 2 years ago, try approaching the leasing company and ask them for proof of your NCB or no claims history with them, they might give it to you and you can then use it as proof of NCB gained.
    Worth a try.
