Toads usually, we have hedgepigs but they do make a mess of the heuchera trampling about, best thing was just lightening the soil in the old house with good drainage which we are currently doing here, seems every time I get the soil where it needs to be we move blinking house. Everything has a purpose its just finding that balance, im not anti-chemical at all but working the job I do I see them used ineffectively without thought to the impact they have, I find it quite odd that I had to be trained to able to handle and sell Garden chemicals but could walk into any agriculture supply store or garden centre and buy some really nasty stuff without any knowledge other than the back of the product.
  • Thanks for the warning farway. I don't use much so another box will keep me going for years. I have already stock up on Roundup. It was on special offer in the autumn, again will last years. I am still using a large bottle of concentrate I purchased over 5 years ago.
