No-Fee 0% Balance Transfer Card

When it is time to renew my car insurance, not only do I check comparison websites as well as the main MSE site, but I also check the websites of insurers who do not use comparison websites to see if there is a better deal for me.

Now I am looking for the best no-fee 0% Balance Transfer card. The main site lists 5 card providers - Santander, Barclaycard, Sainsbury's Bank, Tesco Bank and Halifax. These are stated to be the best no-fee 0% BT cards, but are they? Are there other card providers in addition to the five above, who are not listed on comparison websites (or on MSE), that also offer a no-fee card for between 20-27 months?

If there are, then who are they, please?

So you want people on here to do the searching for you?

Are you paying for this service?
  • bigisi, I won't answer your second question as it's clearly a rhetorical one, but to address your first comment, I've been searching and I'm sure I'm not alone in that.

I haven't found a better deal than the Santander card appears to offer.

However, along with the other providers I listed, Bank of Scotland seem to be offering a card identical to the Halifax one mentioned on the main site.

If fellow forum members have found better deals, then why not share them?

There arent many 0% fee 0% interest BT cards around at the moment.

Just get the best you can with the main providers, try Lloyds and HSBC - not sure if they offer 0% fees.

They do, I've just taken one. But it's only 20 months (still fits the OP's criteria of 20-27 months though).

The Barclaycard mentioned in the OP has an additional £20 cashback for >£2,000 BTs...useful if stoozing, maybe not so much if managing real long-term debt and 0% duration is more important.

Lloyds offered me the 20 month zero percent fee provided transfer takes place in the first 90 days. Also they let me change my existing Lloyds card for this deal.
  • The term "best" can mean different things to different people. I have just taken out a Santander 27 month 0% Nil fee BT card and have transferred £3800. Now earning a little bit more interest on my stash. Some cards quote "up to...." interest free periods whereas the Santander guarantees 27 months, if accepted. This works for me as I wont be tempted to use the Santander card and I will pay it off before the 27 month interest free period. You might, of course, have different objectives.
