My contribution based jsa claim ended october. i rang the hotline and they said complete JSA3 form which they received when I checked over the phone - they said they sent me a letter (which I hadnt received) asking me for updated bank statements to consider entitlement to income based jsa.
So I posted that lot off about 5 weeks ago just ahead of my area getting UC. (I posted in duplicate from 2 different post boxes to be sure) - I rang the DWP earlier this week and they still have no record ("yet" they said) of receiving my information. So the money needs backdating for nearly 2 months now and I have nothing for xmas despite sending them my info in plenty of time ahead of xmas. If it was a private company this level of service would quickly put them out of business.
am I alone in waiting for so long for a decision? the jobcentre dont get involved apparently (convenient as you are sat in front of a human being who you can show your financial info to in seconds and end the weeks of back and forth with the DWP and avoid the "mystery post going missing lottery".

You could try taking all your information to your local JobCentre and asking them to scan it and email it on to the relevant team.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
