I think there are robo advisers services - someone already thought of that, I even think they cost quite a bit too.
Fred , I am not related to financial advisors in any way - my understanding is that they need to charge to make a living and meet overheads. Just imagine someone who has some information giving it for free - after all one already spent money on obtaining it so it does not create them further cost to share it with more people. I do not think it would work because the profession/business would be non viable as it would not bring any money. The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.0 -
If you read this thread it is obvious that my post about the use of robo-advisers has been deleted. I wonder why? Hit a raw nerve maybe? Reported to the forum for saying something an IFA doesn't like? Free speech not allowed if it upsets an IFA?
Maybe it was you referring to a group of professionals as parasites that got your post removed? [see post #6]I am an Independent Financial Adviser. fred246 you must be a very sad lonely man, perhaps a visit to a counsellor would benefit you? I hope you get some help.0

Maybe, just maybe, it's because you were trolling your usual anti IFA agenda in a thread that someone started to get answers about a specific query. Your game isn't funny, and personally I will continue to report posts where you are deliberately being an obnoxious troll rather than doing anything to actually help.If you read this thread it is obvious that my post about the use of robo-advisers has been deleted. Incidentally, you don't have free speech here or anywhere else privately owned on the internet. Why would you assume that? There's a whole list of rules restricting the freedom of your speech to which you agreed when signing up your account here. Perhaps go and read them before getting on your high horse about your "rights" being infringed upon.
Change your attitude and maybe you'll find fewer posts being deleted and fewer threads where it's you vs everyone.I am a Chartered Financial Planner

The OP is a member of the public wanting advice on saving money. He has been charged a lot by a financial adviser. A load of financial advisers then reply and say 'NO' you haven't. Good value etc. So the OP gets no good advice whatsoever on saving money. It's a bit pointless on a money saving forum. The best advice to anyone using an IFA is to stop it. The second best advice is to renegotiate the fees.0

You assume that everyone is both interested and capabile of building up the knowledge required to sucessfully manage their investments. If everyone followed your ideas many people would make fundamentally bad choices and end up poorer. There is a role for paid advice even if you don't like the price.

He has been charged a lot by a financial adviser..
How do you know that ? I have not seen the numbers , just mention that both him and wife are charged. The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.

There are no mentions of any figures by the OP. So, you are just assuming again (as you do in most of your posts).A load of financial advisers then reply and say 'NO' you haven't. Good value etc.
And again, you are making things up as there are no such posts on the thread. So the OP gets no good advice whatsoever on saving money. It's a bit pointless on a money saving forum.
What is your definition of money saving? I saved someone over £70,000 and charged them £1,000 in the process. Are you suggesting that they would be better off not paying my £1,000 and that being £70k worse off is a better option for them?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
