I try to ignore them but sometimes I can't stop myself. I've spent my whole career totally shocked and disgusted by the antics of this slimy group of spivs. I just have to release my feelings every few months.0 -
Those fees are not justified. They used to hide the commission on the last page in the hope that nobody read that far. Now they do the estate agents trick of charging a percentage so it sounds less. Of course if the pension is too low then suddenly the percentage is not the way to charge and an hourly rate is quoted high enough to get rid of someone who's net worth means they're not worth talking to.
Oh dear, you really don't know at all do you.
The whole "charging a percentage so it sounds less" thing is absolutely wrong. As you know (well, should know if your going to comment on such things), the adviser must show clearly all charges in £ and pence.
Of course an adviser is going to set a minimum fee for a small piece of work rather than a percentage. It wouldn't be good business practice otherwise (and remember, you are talking about businesses).I am an Independent Financial Adviser. Did someone force you to come into a thread titled "financial advisor" (which should have clued you in that this was a question about financial advisers)? Presumably you tried your level best to ignore advisers, but somehow we tricked you into coming into said thread and derailing it with your usual trolling nonsense.I try to ignore them but sometimes I can't stop myself. Bravo, that's some very impressive "trying" right there.
Incidentally, we're the ones who actually provided useful answers in this thread. You've just trolled. So far, we're coming off far better than you.I am a Chartered Financial Planner

Once you've filled in one set of forms for £1500 you can surely fill in another lot with the partners name without charging another £1500. Maybe you could let the customer copy the form with their details. It can't take much to print the same advice twice. Oh I suppose another £1500 will be needed to pay for the extra paper & ink.0

If you read this thread it is obvious that my post about the use of robo-advisers has been deleted. I wonder why? Hit a raw nerve maybe? Reported to the forum for saying something an IFA doesn't like? Free speech not allowed if it upsets an IFA?0
