Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, I tried looking to see if I should put it somewhere else.
I'm getting ahead of myself and am so excited that me and bf have actually decided to try for a baby. Well, we've decided that I should come of the pill and "see what happens."
I've been on Cerazette which is the one you take with no breaks for about 9 months and for about 2-3 years before that, I was on injections. So basically I haven't had a period in about 4 years.
I stopped the bill on Wednesday (see how ahead of myself I'm getting) and just wondered when I am likely to have one. For years I've been glad I didn't have then, now I don't feel normal cos every website goes on about your cycle and I don't have one!

Sounds very familiar! I was on Cerazette for 2 years, with 4 years on Depo before that.
I stopped taking cerazette June 2006, not initially because we were trying for a baby, but because I was starting to have increasingly erratic mood swings and OH and I thought maybe a break from the hormones would help. We had agreed that if a baby came along it would be a good thing, though!
Prior to starting on the depo, I had a very erratic cycle, anywhere from 25 to 60 days (lots of money on pregnancy tests!), but after coming off cerazette they were very regular. I had my first period exactly 28 days after I took my last pill. They were then extremely regular up until christmas, when the cycle started to be a bit erratic, but only by about 7 days so nothing like it was before! I fell pregnant at the end of February, and my baby is due in 2 weeks! I had been told by my GP that the pill tends to "reset" your fertility cycle, and he wasn't surprised when mine restarted very regularly after years of a very irregular cycle. I would only start to worry if things haven't got back to normal after 3 months or so. Just keep a calendar, and you will soon get the hang of your new cycle. Oh, and have fun :-) don't stress too much and good luck :-)

Aww, thank you and congratulations!!!! We do indeed sound very similar. My periods were not very regular before I went on the pill (which I was on before the injections), but I was only 18 when I went on it, so I might just have been too young to have regular ones! So basically I don't know my own body!
Oh well, I'll let the hormones seep out of my body and try and keep a diary of everything.
You've put my mind at rest a little bit, thank you. Can I just ask, while you were on the injections and cerazette, did you have any bleeding at all, only I was told it was hit and miss, some people do, some people dont?Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

On depo I had very occasional bleeding, I don't remember having any on the cerazette. I was also told it was hit and miss, and that they weren't true periods, or any indication of fertility.
BTW I was 22 when I started on the depo, 28 when I stopped taking the cerazette, conceived on my 29th birthday ;-) But I had never had regular periods from when they started.
I think a diary is a good idea - I found it was very obvious to tell when I was ovulating, from the <ahem> discharge - sorry if TMI! If you record this kind of information as well it will give you a pretty good idea of what is going on... The fertility websites will give you a good idea of what to look out for. Even if in my case I was using it to avoid getting pregnant immediately, as I had my professional exams in October last year and wanted to get them out of the way without morning sickness etc. being an issue.

Hello,
I was also on Cerazette for a few years and loved the fact that I wasn't having any periods while I was on it. It really helped my mood swings! I came off Cerazette in September 2006 and my periods were very regular very quickly. I am now due to have my first baby in 2 weeks (November 24th) and can't wait. I'll admit the 6 months of trying felt like a lifetime but now looking back, it probably wasn't that long at all.
Good luck with the trying. Make sure you enjoy it!

Hi,
When I was on Cerazette I remember being told that if I wanted to start trying for a baby, it was best to wait until I'd had a period (after coming off the pill) before actively trying to get pregnant as if you get pregnant directly after coming off the pill without a period first it's much harder to estimate a due date.I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0
