Ticket from UK CPM

My husband recently received a windscreen ticket for parking on a public road, near our home.
I emailed my local MP who contacted our local council.
I have received an email from an assistant director - Highways Infrastructure, who has clarified the the road is highway and not a private road.
He has contacted UK CPM, who claim that an housing association apparently asked them to enforce in the belief that it was a private road. (The road leads down to some private flats)
He is also going to make contact with the housing association.
What, if anything, should we do in the meantime?
Do I send an appeal to UK CPM?
Are they likely to still demand money?

Report them to the DVLA and ask they take sanction action against them. They have accessed your personal data 'without reasonable cause' (use those words, they have a specific meaning). Copy the written confirmation from the Highways Dept to the DVLA.
Ask the DVLA to check how many other motorists have been 'caught' by UKCPM at this location and ensure that they get things 'put right' for them.

Issue a Letter Before Claim/Action with a claim against UKCPM for the misuse of your personal data. Do some Google searches on 'Parking Prankster Data Protection breach' to read how other cases have been conducted. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Just use the initial appeal template as per the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1 and let them fall deeper into the mire they have created. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
