You can open a Tesco account and also their fixed rate savings account got to better than 1.5% at Santander. Even better if you shop at Tesco for your groceries, it's my main account for just this, I keep it topped up to the £3k max and collect the extras for using the debit card along with my clubcard for voucher rewards and points for Tesco mobile too.
If you have a spare £1500 to float around then open an Halifax reward account just for the switch pay out, £135 + £2 pm if you also have 2 DD's to use as an ongoing reward or ditch it after 6 months.
Of course there's the Nationwide which pays interest on their current account for 12 months and they have the regular saver0 -
Some of these reply's ….where are you E...bank thing thing0

OP you say you have a regular saver with Nationwide, have you not got one with Santander? Also 5%0

Cheers guys, never knew Santander did a savings account as well, i presume it's the same as the Nationwide £250 month saver ??0

The Santander regular saver currently available pays 3%.
Will open one now, its £200 month in/£38 year interest...
If i open it today i presume i just set up a standing order for £200 month on the 21st of each month.
What happens to these accounts after the 12 month period ?
Can you start again, or is it a one off deal ??
Thanks0 -

Yes just start a new one. If it’s a joint account you can have one each.0
