Monzo or Lloyds

It's also a little immature that they believe anyone other than their staff and about 20 other people actually care about the colour of their Monzo card.0

It's a bit of a mystery why this post floated to the top of the board. I haven't posted on it since the 23rd of December, but this evening every time I post something, this post has gone straight to the top again. Weird? Now you mention it, it is weird, I didn’t even notice the date of your last post, it showed up tonight in my subscriptions as a new post by you :huh:
For anyone wishing to validate this behaviour, at the time of posting the poll result is currently Lloyds 19 votes to Monzo's 6....0 -
I'm pretty sure that this is caused by threads with polls, so whenever someone chooses to vote on it, it erroneously causes the thread to update as if the most recent poster had posted at that time.

Another reason to dump these silly polls.0

I do actually. Call me a card collector if you want. :rotfl:I really like to have various cards on my shelf. Most banks offer cards similar to all other card - dark blue with lighter blue or purple or silver.
But this is not the main reason to choose Monzo, of course. I just don't understand how can people compare it to Lloyds.
I strongly recommend to read this:

My Monzo now shows icons of all banks on my contact list. Also showing icons of every store where I made some purchase. It's really visually appealing.
Also showing instant balance updates every time you pay for something or someone sends you money. Another good thing is that Monzo is the only UK bank showing you full account number and sort code from which you received payment.
If you are a bit geeky person like me, you simply need Monzo.0 -

You can strongly recommend that article all you like, but it's well out of date already. You can (now) do everything in the Lloyds app that the article says you couldn't. Whether it's a challenger or a legacy bank, things don't stand still.0 -

As does Starling, along with being a more well rounded service offering. If you are a bit geeky person like me, you simply need Monzo.
I’d rather have a geeky account with the opposition mobile bank that offers the better service.

Yeah I know. But legacy banks are just catching up. Seems like Monzo and Starling will always be ahead of them. I have a new Halifax account (part of Lloyds group) and I really like their online banking and app. I check it regularly even though I didn't pay anything, just because I like "how it feels". I know I'm weird.
Anyway, I assume they (Lloyds) haven't cut the time for sending you a new card by half, have they? And does their app or online banking show icons? I find it really nice and would like all banks to start using this, plus showing time of any payment (not only date) which can be sometimes useful.0 -

I'm fairly underwhelmed.
My CYBG account provides the sort code/ account number of incoming payments, so you must be mistaken on that front.
Their suggestion of retaining a real bank account to do banking is laughable- especially if the traditional bank realises they are being used as a cash mule and close the account.
It also doesn't seem to have proper Faster Payments as my friend send funds to their normal bank (by mistake instead of Monzo) and it didn't appear until overnight. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
