Car clamping

I had a bailiff clamp my car at work today over £2.50 dart charge that I Was informed about six months after event happened

My car is on finance they emailed him saying take clamp off after 2 hours of him at work in front of my boss and all customers arguing.

Said I would need to wait until 8pm tonight. This was at 2pm today.

I waited at work till 8pm he then called to say he’s not taking it off. I’ve even offered to pay so much a month. He has said no! Full payment or no car!

Can they do this. He has come into my work, divulged private data about me to reception and my boss. All the bloody members watching too

It's not £2.50, how much do you owe now?

I think you would be better taking this to pepipoo.com, as they ae the council/police motoring experts. You will need to register on pepipoo with a non Hotmail account.

In addition, you should contact Sheila at Bailiff Advice Online. She has a good reputation on this site.

  • It was a £2.50 charge. Didn’t know about it until received a call 6 months later. It’s now £435
  • I’ve offered a payment plan but bailiff is refusing. I can not afford the payment in full

When you say "bailiff" is he from the county or high court? Did he have a court order? Had you not had any previous correspondence about this?

Either way, the clamp on the lease vehicle is illegal
Inform him that he has until X time today to remove it, otherwise you will arrange for it to be removed at THEIR expense
