Car Repair Comparison Services

Hi, my gf is overdue some standard work doing on her car (cambelt, water pump and tensioner). Its a 2006 Ford Fiesta. Does anyone recommend any of these whocanfixmycar type services online for quotes. I am a little wary as I am nervous about being bombarded with marketing texts after we have received quotes. Is there a good one or is it worthwhile going the old fashioned route and just ringing around 3 or 4 places??? Don't really want my phone number ending up on a mugslist for constant calls and texts.

You shouldn't have too much trouble finding a local Ford specialist.

Also have a look on the Good Garage Scheme website.

Either should be better than "pot luck".

Also consider franchised dealers, often there are reduced rates for older cars. Personally I prefer to use a local independent we have done business with for years but appreciate not everyone has that.

Good Garage scheme membership does NOT EVER equate to a "good garage", The garage has to upsell a lot of additives and lubricants for the company or face nasty area managers giving them hell in return. The site wont allow negative comments of a garage either. A "good garage" does not need to enrolled in a "scheme" to be a good garage.

Ask friends and neighbours to recommend a local garage. Don't just pick one because they appear to be cheap. Pick one that your friends and neighbours know does a good job and doesn't find unnecessary extra work to do.
