Pence Per Unit Electricty Meter

Hello, myself and my partner have recently moved to a two bedroom flat about 2 months ago and have noticed our electricity seems to be super expensive. We have a £1 coin operated electric meter where we need to insert £1 coins to get our electricity. Also our property is above a shop which is also owned by our landlord, now the strange thing is, the tenant of the shop below actually pays our electricity bill as its all connected in the building so every now and then he'll come round to collect the £1 coins from our meter to pay the bill.
My question however is are we paying too much electricity? I've noticed on the meter it says our 'Pence Per Unit' is from what I can understand 31p. which just seems way too high.
We also have a second meter which I believe to be some kind of economy 7 meter as it only works for the storage heaters and hot water heater in the middle of the night. again that seems way too expensive as we put £5 on and put the hot water on only and it used the whole £5 in a few hours.
We're so worried about using anything as the price seems too high. A side note, I do not know what company supplies us and we also live in Devon if that helps.
Our meter is a Sangamo coin operated meter.
The standard meter shows 31 on the 'Pence Per Unit' dial.
The second (economy7) meter shows 2 'Units Per Coin'.
I would send images of the meters but as a new user it wont let me.
Thanks all in advance.

Nobody can really help unless you post your pictures.
Simply host them on an image hosting site e.g. tinypic or imgur and post the url less http:/ or add some spaces to the url.0 -
here are the links to the images of the meters minus the http// :

They are not allowed to charge you more than they are paying for the electricity. Yes you are being ripped off at those prices and you should ask them for the calculations and to charge you the correct amount, they are not allowed to simply empty the coin meter and keep it. You should point out the guidance to them and you could recover any overcharge plus interest through the courts. https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications-and-updates/resale-gas-and-electricity-guidance-maximum-resale-price-updated-october-20050 -
Yes, the E7 rate of 50p/unit is absolutely extortionate!0

So what would you say is the best way of approaching this? Do I ring the landlord and say I'm paying too much or do I seek citizens advice. what would be the average pence per unit/unit per coin price that I realistically should be paying? Also thank you everyone who has commented so far. I really appreciate it.0

If you are being supplied through a shop then you might be paying business rates for your electric. I would talk to CAB first and then politely query the rates with who ever rents the shop. I would not push the landlord too hard until you have all the facts.
Do you have meter readings? If you don't I would suggest reading the meters daily, at the same time of day each time. You will need to know your usage if you do ever put a claim in.
