Any way to change the address on gas meter database

I wanted to move to Avro Energy but they say that my address doesn't matches the one on the gas meter database.
This is due to our address being renamed by the council to years ago.
I was with Economy energy at that time and despite me advising them of the address change they have only for some reason changed it on the electricity but not gas.
I have moved to the damned Outfox The Market a month ago just prior to all the issues starting to happen and they were just happy to take my word regarding the address issue.
Avro however are insisting that my current provider Outfox has to change the gas meter address.
The problem is they are just ignoring my requests and complaints.
So am I unable to do anything until they either respond or 8 weeks have passed and I am then able to take to the Ombudsman?
