Transferring music on my mobile

Hi

I have just bought a new Samsung Galaxy J6 phone and want to transfer my music from the old Samsung S4. How to I back up my music on the S4 so that I can easily transfer it over to my new phone?
Also do I transfer everything such as contacts, photos, music etc over before swopping my number of should I swop the number first and then transfer everything over.

Thanks
Val :)

Samsungs come with an App to help you migrate from one phone to another, it is called Smart Switch.

if using google music/photos and have your google account sync on you should just have to log into your google account on your new phone and your music/photos/contacts/bookmarks etc will all be there.

i am assuming you already have all your music/photos/docs backed up to another device/drive

    Plug phone into computer.
Access phone via computer's file manager (phone needs to be unlocked and the USB mode set to the file transfer option if it asks).
    Find music on phone.
    Copy music to computer.
Back up copied music however you back up your files.
  • How did you get music on phone?

It is just albums I downloaded from my pc. They went into my files.

I think I will just start again and download music from my pc onto the new phone

if they are on your pc they are backed up.

there are so many ways to transfer media/data to new phone and you will be prompted when you turn on the new phone.

i find it better to just have all of your media/data linked to google accounts (music, photos etc) and then you can access from any device just by logging into google account and it also acts as a third backup.

don't know what app you use to play music but if you wanted to use google music.

goto play.google.com/music on your pc > upload music > your music will then be available on any device via play music app
