Hello,
I recently put 11 cassette tapes into a small shop to be converted onto DVD. When handing them over I was not given an estimate on how much the total cost would be when it was finished. I was given a brief summary of how much per hour they charge.
When emailing the business to confirm if the recordings had been finished they gave me the total cost when asked. It came to a considerable amount more. I don’t feel like it was made clear that this would be the charge and I do not feel happy paying the amount.
Please can you advise me what my consumer rights are in this circumstance?
Thanks.
Natalie

And you left without an estimated cost?
Quick Duck Duck Go search suggest a charge of around £11 per tape, so I would expect to pay about £121?
Next time ask about the cost per tape before you rush out.0 -
I bought a DVD-VHS recorder on a car boot for £20, recorded all our old VHS tapes of wedding & kids parties - then sold it on Ebay for £100
Job done, although it could have been £20 wasted if the recorder hadn't worked of course0
