The house is a draughty old Edwardian 5 bed with exposed floorboards and solid walls.
This sentence details all your problems. Unless those floorboards are new (& probably even if they are) you have got draughts coming up them. How cold do the inside of your solid walls feel? And you have already discovered what a difference your draughts make.
With all those things, it would not surprise me at all if the usage is correct. What about extractor fans - kitchen & bathroom? Block them off & get a dehumidifier they are much more efficient & don't add to your draughts.0 -
We live in a 5 bed detached house approx' 13 years old, 3 adults and 2 dogs and I am retired so someone always home.
The last 12 months gas was 1471 units used (16422 KWH)
Obviously I would have thought your 1906 house wouldn't be as energy efficient but that does seem very high too me. Having said that I've never lived in an old house so what do I know!
I would definitely get this checked out starting with monitoring your daily usage as a starting point.0
