Late payment with virgin - getting it removed

I am applying for a mortgage very soon, and have checked all my credit files and noticed a 'late payment' on an old Virgin credit card that I no longer have. Numerous calls to virgin to dispute this as at the time they realised it wasn't my fault, they tried searching for the call I made to them in December 2017 but couldn't find it so they've agreed to have it removed from my credit file, but are saying it may take a while to show up.
Is there any way I can get them to do this urgently as ideally I want it off there before I make the mortgage application - is this possible for them to do? Or is it the usual 4 - 6 weeks for it to update on the files

You need to wait for them to update the CRA's with the changes0

One late payment marker from a year ago will probably make little difference to a mortgage application (I had 6 satisfied defaults on file when I was accepted for mine.)
